When you’re thinking of birthday present ideas for a certain type of person (it doesn’t necessarily have to be a boy) there are only certain types of presents that will do – classic toys for boys. Classic toys for boys are those traditional style models of vehicles and objects that people of all ages simply can’t stop playing with.  Classic toys for boys make ideal gifts because they are just that, classic toys that will never date and will always be a source of fascination to those with enquiring minds. Here are three of my favourite classic boys’ toys that will make top birthday present ideas for the novice or advanced boys toys collector.

When you think of the term ‘Classic Toys for Boys’, there’s probably one item that instantly springs to mind – The Remote Control Helicopter (or R/C Helicopter). Ever since humanity first became fascinated with flight, there has been some form of helicopter toy that children and adults have played with, and the R/C Helicopter is that same ancient toy only brought bang up to date in the 21st Century. R/C Helicopters come in all sorts of models, sizes and functions, ranging from old-fashioned Gyro Helicopters to Mini Helicopters and R/C Helicopters that you can control with your iPhone.

Edging closely into second place, just behind the R/C Helicopter is that other classic boys’ toy – the Remote Control Boat. Just as people are fascinated with flight, they are also fascinated with water, and the R/C Boat give land-bound enthusiasts the chance to briefly experience the joys of sailing across open water.  R/C Boats appeal to people of all ages, younger children will love the excitement of steering a mini boat across water whereas older people will find it to be a peaceful and pleasant experience. There are a huge variety of R/C Boats available, and some can even be customised with designs and colours to make extra-special birthday present ideas.

The third of these classic toys for boys is the speed-demon’s favourite – the Remote Control Car. Just like their other R/C counterparts, R/C Cars simply combine everything that is thrilling and pleasurable about driving into a model that you don’t need a driving licence to use! Youngsters, and perhaps those who are old enough to know better, often find an R/C Car to be an exciting present to receive, and unlike R/C Boats and R/C Helicopters they don’t even need to leave the house to drive them.
